Fruit

Don't bother asking where this randomness is coming from. But someone asked me what my fave fruit was and I realized that it depends on what it is for.

Muffins: blueberry
Smoothie: mango
Ice cream: rasberry
popsicle: banana
shaved ice: coconut
whole fruit: pear
jam: rasberry
jello: lime
oatmeal: peaches
juice: orange

isn't funny, you would think it would be the same no matter what, but not for me.Photobucket

Read the post below about how we are involved in The M.O.R.E. project.

the More Project

We were given such an incredible gift for Christmas this year. My father has spent some time working with the company Monavie. Monavie has a non-profit organization called the More Project which help underpriveleged children in Brazil. My brother works for Monavie has had the opportunity to go to Brazil twice now and help out with this amazing program.

For christmas, all 8 of my siblings were given a child to sponsor. My parents will take care of the monetary contribution for each child, and we will have the opportunity to write to and hopefully one day visit our child. We were given Sara. She is 4 and a half years old. She is currently an orphan and I am unsure exactly what is the relationship with the parents. My brother actually got to meet several of the kids we are sponsoring and handpicked a few of them for us.

To learn more about the MORE project go to http://www.themoreproject.org/. Click on the post above to see a video of the children.

She's a chubster with quite the appetite!

We got to meet Ryan's sister Emilee's baby finally on Christmas Eve. He is one month older than Tayvlee. Emilee's husband Adrian said (referring to how chubby she is), "It looks like your baby ate my baby".

Then on Christmas Day, they had us over for dinner, and we happened to get this picture of Tayvlee actually trying to eat her cousin, Elijah. Too funny.

Here they are playing nice.

K with Uncle Peter on Christmas Day.

K asked santa for a scooter and a DVD player for the car. She got both, but santa thinks she should have gotten a lump of coal. (Not a big fan of 3 and a half).

K was 'Mary' in the Roberts Christmas Nativity. She was crabby, but who wouldn't be crabby if they were "with child".

Tay was a sheep. "BAAAAAAH!"

Tay and her cousin Elijah who is 1 month older. Tay wins the chubby contest.

Moving Forward

2010 is now over. The first part really lagged (you know how pregnancies go) and I had little motivation to do anything. Tayvlee became part of our family on August 1st. Her first trip was to St. George to Grandpa Johnsen's house.
Kennedee started preschool and became a big sister.
Ryan got a new position with his company and finally quit being a drug dealer. (thanks Home Care for a long 6 years). Ryan started his MBA program at CLU in the fall. Evening classes and lots of studying ahead for the next 2 years.
I have been busy with the kids, getting back in shape and back to teaching group-x with some private personal training on the side. Using my spare time (if I get any) to do some photography and some reading. Here are my latest reads:
The Glass Castle, by Jeannette Walls
Totally loved this book. It is an autobiography of her life growing up. Although she lived what most people would think is a tragic life, her parents sure had a way of making the kids not realize it. I seriously laughed out loud so many times at how backwards her parents were in raising them, but you knew they loved them, even though they moved across the country with 2 kids and a BABY in the back of a uhaul with all the furniture. And that is just one illegal move they made. I definitely recommend. I was always so excited to see what craziness would happen next, it was hard to put down.
The Help, by Kathryn Stockett
Another great book, written about the black housemaids in the sixties. Although fictional, I am sure these are stories that really could have happened. It really makes you wonder which character in the book I would have been like if I lived in that time period. If you haven't read it, then pick up a copy or borrow mine.
Grandma Johnse turned 80. My step-mom had a kidney transplant, thanks to a wonderful angel for donating. Bro-in-law started the police academy, 2 brothers graduated high school. My mom started working for JetBlue (hoping to get to use her flying discount this coming year). That is about all I can think of right now about 2010. Now that I am not pregnant, we hope to do some traveling this year. Not a single one of us got sick at all in 2010 and we are hoping to keep up that trend.
We spent Christmas in SLC, St. George and then on to Las Vegas for New Years Eve. We had a great time, I will post some pics in a separte post soon. Wishing anyone who reads this a Happy New Year themselves.
