Tayvlee's video flip book

A few years back I posted a video in which we recorded about 30 seconds of Kennedee at 3 months old and continuing on until she was 18 months. It is now on my sidebar if you want to watch it. I just finished Tayvlee's first year. You can watch her go from 3months -12months in about 10 minutes and 38 seconds. I'm so glad I started this tradition.

It was taking forever to upload it to this post, so I uploaded it via photobucket and put it on my sidebar above Kennedee's. Just look over to the right and scroll down a bit.

First off these two movie are coming out soon. I have rad the books, so I am very anxious to see how they look on the Big Screen. Some books do well turned to film, while other do not. I was SOOOOOO disappointed in the film version of "The Kite Runner". I love that book and the movie just killed it. So we'll see how these 2 do.

Sarah's Key (although this might be too depressing to watch)

The Help (this should be so much fun)

The Graveyard Book: by Neil Gaiman

The concept of this book is pretty cool, and I really don't want to bash it too badly, but it just isn't my style of book. I don't do the fantasy type of books like dragons and fairies and wizards. So you can imagine I was nowhere near the Harry Potter movie this past weekend............no offense to others, it just doesn't capture my interest. So although I don't give it a high grade, it doesn't make it a bad book. The author writes really well and cleverly. But once you start talking about ghouls, my mind is thinking about other stuff, not the words I am readin.

'Till The Boys Come Home: by Jerry Borrowman

This is actually written by an LDS author. No it's not like a churchy churchy book, but some of the characters are LDS. I have read so many World War 2 books and do be honest I have felt a little uneducated about World War I. I enjoyed the historical aspect of the book to better familiarize myself with this time period and even help makes sense of how we even got to WWII. I enjoyed this book. It is about 2 boys growing up in Idaho, and continues on as they both enlist in the war. Although at times the author got really really descriptive of the mechanics of airplanes which made my mind drift, I still liked the detail.

I'm just getting stupider

Seriously, the things I've been catching myself doing lately............STUPID. Oh, I'm not supposed to say that word, Kennedee always tells me "that's a bad word" if I accidentally slip it out.

In the last couple months I have caught myself using my keyless entry car remote to 'unlock' the front door of my house. (Hey, I should patent that idea. Keyless entry for the home.)

My kids were being crazy loud and whiny in the backseat, and I turned down my volume controls on my steering wheel. Within seconds of doing it, I realized what I had just done. Where is my brain?

I even caught myself upon hearing Tayvlee crying, grabbing her binky and putting it in ryan's mouth, not hers.

I guess with all the multi-tasking a mom does, you sometimes just go on auto-pilot and zone out.

Speaking of multi-tasking. I was feeding Tayvlee and then Kennedee started whining that she was thirsty and wanted me to get her a drink. I said, "sorry Kennedee, it's Tayvlee's turn. There is only one mommy and 2 little girls"...........................to which Kennedee responded, "What about we have 2 mommies?" Polygammy actually doesn't sound that bad. I would love to have a wife :)

4 weeks of visitors

I never pulled out my camera until the very end of our Roberts' reunion. Put luckily I have inlaws who are very camera-happy, so I'm sure they would love to give me copies of all their pics. (wink-wink) right?
We stayed in Irvine and spent a few days at Laguna Beach, shopping, swimming, and just spending time together. Everyone was there, which meant a formal Photo Session. Can't wait to see the pics.

Tay wants to ride Luke's skateboard.

This is our secret place to watch the fireworks. Rather than trying to find parking and dealing with cray traffic, we found a parking structure in Irvine that we go to the top of and you can see 2 shows with perfect views. A few people of figured this out, but for the most part, we have the place to ourselves.

Emilee, Adrian, and little Eli stayed an extra week. Eli just celebrated his 1st birthday party.

The McDaniels visited for 3 weeks prior to the reunion. We had a great time going to concerts in the park, swimming, and playing at the water park. And playing the new official Roberts' Sport.......croquet.

Kennedee went Surfing with Daddy

Ry has been dying to get Kennedee out in the water. He got her a wetsuit and took her out a few weeks ago. My mom came to visit us and her inlaws who live in Malibu right on the beach. So K tried out the waves at Paradise Cove. I'm glad she liked it, until the salt water got in her eyes. I guess the ocean water will take some getting used to. Next time I'll get some pics of her standing up on the board.

Summer Solstice

Every June in Santa Barbara they have a huge parade with a different theme each year. This year was a "jungle theme". After the parade, we go to the park where there is lots of vendors, food, and music. Always a fun time and the kids love it.
