I've been Lying all this Time.

So as long as I can remember, I have been telling people that I am 5"8". Well the life insurance lady came to our house Saturday to do all the tests and she said I was 5'7". WHAT? NO WAY. I made her take it over again twice, but the verdict still came up short. So if I keep saying I am 5'8", don't get mad at me, it's a habit. I'm going to have to get used to this. Maybe I shrunk, what do you think?
On a better note, seeing as Ryan and I are very competitive with one another, I WIN. My blood pressure is lower than his. Compare my 102 over 62 to his 108 over 70. He usually beats me at most things, so it's exciting to beat him at something. Yes, I realize I am a dork.

My Baby is not a Baby ANYMORE

Happy Birthday, Kennedee

Kennedee turned 2 on March 19th. Wow that went by fast. I will probably wake up tomorrow and she will be 20. She has brought so much joy to our lives. I remember soon after she was first born, people always asked me what was the biggest change in now becoming a mother. It wasn't the diapers, or having less time for myself, or anything like that. The biggest change was that I truly felt like a better person overnight. I feel like she has made me kinder, more loving, more patient, and my testimony has grown more than ever.

She is so spunky. She is definitely a girl and loves bows, necklaces, dresses, and baby dolls...............but you will also see her running and climbing with the boys. Just this last week she came home making sound effects when she kicks or punches. She cracks me up this silly girl. Happy Birthday Monkey, I love you, I love you, I love you.

Kennedee loves Grandpa Roberts

Here is the skirt I sewed for her and the shirt I appliqued especially for this 2 year old.

She loves her presents!

She just learned to climb out of the crib and she must have gotten the memo, that when you turn 2, you are supposed to be terrible. So I made her sit in her room (since she wouldn't stay in her crib) and eventually she fell asleep. She made a pile of toys and blankets and plopped right in the middle of it and this is how I found her.

Yes, we really are this Stupid
Flashback 3 years ago. It's Sunday and Ryan and I are quickly getting ready for church so that we can be on time. We pull up to the church and "wow" we must really be early because there sure aren't many cars here yet. After entering the chapel to find nobody, we turn and laugh at eachother, because, YES it is daylight savings day and that extra hour of sleep everybody else got, is now wasted.

What I learned this Weekend?

Ryan and I spent 2 nights in a cabin north of Frazier Park with our friends, Katie and Noah. With much discussion, here is what we learned.
1. When MEN shop, they are SPENDING money (this is the way they view it). But when WOMEN shop, we are SAVING money. (When I find a cute top that is $88 and it is on sale for $38, who can call that spending? Hello, I am SAVING.

2. It is better to buy your 2nd(vacation) home first, and then your first home. (At least this is what Ryan is trying to convince our friends so we can go in on a cabin together).

3. The best way to live a happier life...........
......Break out into song regardless of who you are with or where you are, just like they do on "Flight of the Concords"

I can do it Myself
On occasion, Kennedee will have asthma symptoms. We have preventitive and emergency meds. Luckily we just give her the preventative stuff at the first sign and she usually is good to go. In the very beginning we had to hold her down will A LOT of force, because we have to administer it through a nebulizer. But now, she knows how much better she feels and knows that she can breather better, so now she actually ASKS for it and will hold the mask up to her face the whole 10 minutes. I am so glad the battle is over.

Catalogue shopping for great ideas
After catalogue shopping all weekend, Katie(my friend) and I couldn't wait to go to the actual stores. We are both IN LOVE with J.Crew. Their fall collection 08 and their spring collection 09 are to die for. I love their color pallette of lite pink, creams, mint, gold accessories....all yummy. But, if you go to their store you will not appreciate their style. You have to see the way they piece their items together. This 100% defines my style (jeans or skirt with a T and cardigan, wrapped together with a high waisted belt or tie). Pick up their latest catalogue or go to JCREW.COM. Ryan if you are reading this, remember my birthday is April 15th, hint, hint, hint.

Free Pottery Barn Class

It's no secret that I love PB Kids. Just look at Kennedee's room. I just found out that they are offering free classes at their store in LA at the Grove. If anybody would like to join me on Saturday March 21st, the decorating class is from 10-11, then maybe some good shopping and lunch afterwards. Let me know if you are interested. PB is also giving good discounts to those who attend.

Goodbye

We do not have a pet anymore. For details contact Ryan or Ron Roberts.

Finished Product
For our ward auction I donated "that I would make an apron". So if you saw the fabric (aka duvet cover) I got from Urban Outfitters in a past post, here is what I did with it. To see the other aprons I made with different fabrics and patterns click here to my other blog.
