Tips and SECRETS

We all have them............great cooking or cleaning tips. How to get chicken just right or that old stain out of clothes. Or how to shop for groceries or whatever. Well I really REALLY want to hear some of your famous tips on whatever. I will start. I've been obsessed with everything vintage lately, but to buy vintage fabrics it costs like $12-$18 a yard. So I went online to anthropologie.com and urbanoutfitters.com and looked in their sale section. I bought a couple of twin duvet covers of these cute vintage prints and figured I can cut them down for sewing fabric at now less than $3 a yard. Don't you love a good deal.

Question # 8

What is one of your best secrets or tips for anything? Feel free to share several.

I'm the first, yay. Do you hate slicing apples for apple pie? First you have to peel all of them and then try to slice them evenly, its a pain right? It used to always take me so long, I hated it. Well I just learned a new way that is so ridiculously easy! Stand the apple up on the cutting board so the stem is up, then cut the core of the apple in a square. Now you have four pieces all with a flat side. Put the flat side down then thinly slice. Its kind of hard to explain but once you get it you'll never cut an apple any other way. :)

Something that I saw on HGTV and copied was I bought printed scrapbook paper from Roberts Craft and framed it. Each piece cost around 70 cents so it was pretty inexpensive for a cute picture for our guest bathroom and a group of three in our bedroom. They have so many cute designs you could use it for any room!

Peel a banana from the bottom and you won't have to pick the little "stringy things" off of it.
