Recent Reads

First off these two movie are coming out soon. I have rad the books, so I am very anxious to see how they look on the Big Screen. Some books do well turned to film, while other do not. I was SOOOOOO disappointed in the film version of "The Kite Runner". I love that book and the movie just killed it. So we'll see how these 2 do.

Sarah's Key (although this might be too depressing to watch)

The Help (this should be so much fun)

The Graveyard Book: by Neil Gaiman

The concept of this book is pretty cool, and I really don't want to bash it too badly, but it just isn't my style of book. I don't do the fantasy type of books like dragons and fairies and wizards. So you can imagine I was nowhere near the Harry Potter movie this past weekend............no offense to others, it just doesn't capture my interest. So although I don't give it a high grade, it doesn't make it a bad book. The author writes really well and cleverly. But once you start talking about ghouls, my mind is thinking about other stuff, not the words I am readin.

'Till The Boys Come Home: by Jerry Borrowman

This is actually written by an LDS author. No it's not like a churchy churchy book, but some of the characters are LDS. I have read so many World War 2 books and do be honest I have felt a little uneducated about World War I. I enjoyed the historical aspect of the book to better familiarize myself with this time period and even help makes sense of how we even got to WWII. I enjoyed this book. It is about 2 boys growing up in Idaho, and continues on as they both enlist in the war. Although at times the author got really really descriptive of the mechanics of airplanes which made my mind drift, I still liked the detail.
