Well here we go again. Kennedee started 1st Grade on August 19th. In the days leading up to it she did not seem excited. In fact she said she didn't want to go because of all the work she would have to do and she was nervous. Walking up to the school she said she was a little nervous, but when we got in front of the classroom, she saw a friend who had a few tears in her eyes. I told Kennedee that many of her friends were also nervous. Kennedee looked up at me and said, "Oh, I am not nervous at all anymore" and with a small hug, she went right into the classroom.
We got Mrs. Sellinger from Philadelphia. She has been teaching 1st grade for 17 of the 18 years that she has been a teacher. I haven't gotten a read on her at all, but I am told she is strict (but in a really good way). Here goes another year!
AND then Tayvlee. She started preschool today with Miss Krystal. She was very excited. Tay does really well being dropped off with other people, so it was painless as expected. Miss Krystal will do such a great job, and I am excited for Tay to learn and grow. She even has a pet turtle, Tay's favorite. BTW, you may notice a mark on Tayvlee's face. She was playing with lizards yesterday and tried to kiss the lizard, so it bit her :) Typical Tay.
